Volunteers at Abbotsford Juniors Football Club

Volunteers wanted at Abbotsford Juniors Football Club

Abbotsford Juniors Football Club is a community, volunteer-based Club.  As such, we're always on the look-out for volunteers to assist us with our job as a Committee, of ensuring that the experience for all our players, coaches and managers, the best it can be.

The 2022 Season is no different in that now more than every, we need people to assist with the many organisational tasks that go on behind the scenes to make the Club function as a proper Football Club should.

Right now, we’re looking to fill an important paid role and a number of volunteer roles to assist in the running of the Club:

IMPORTANT NOTE:  All AJFC Volunteers require a Working with Children Check to be successfully completed before commencing in any role.

Facilities and Grounds Manager (Facilities and Grounds Manager Job Statement)
This tax-free paid role is responsible for maintaining our AJFC's Campbell Park facilities, the safe storage of Club’s football equipment and coordinating the setup/management of match days at both Campbell Park and Lysaght Park.

If you're a university student, retired or simply someone with some spare time on your hands after hours and weekends, then this is a role for you.   If you have an interest in this role either on a full-time or part-time basis, please contact Club Treasurer Paul Simeoni at treasurer@ajfc.net.au

Game Leader Coordinator and Mentors
With the introduction of our new Game Leader program we need a Game Leader Coordinator and several Game Leader Mentors.

The AJFC Game Leader Coordinator is responsible for the overall Game Leader program, ensuring that our Junior and Youth members of the program are supported in their initial training period through to leading games during the season.  There is also a scheduling component to assign members to games on Satuday and Sunday mornings, as well as ensuring that they are successful in their training and leading endeavours.

Game Leader Mentors to as the name suggests are Youth or Adult Club members who are willing to mentor and assist our Junior members as they are trained and develop their skills as Game Leaders. There are no special qualifications required though any Junior referees are welcome to apply.

For more information please see our Game Leader Program Page.

Ground Officials
Ground officials are an integral part of how we ensure a safe experience at our grounds for everyone - our players, supporters, coaches, managers and officials.  If you have some time on a Friday night (away games), Saturday or Sunday, we'd love to talk to you.  Email us at volunteer@ajfc.net.au

Schedulers
We're a football club and our life as a Club lives and dies by schedules.  There are plenty of them, from match schedules, game day setup and packdown of pitches through to match official rosters and we're always on the lookout for people to assist is with our planning and organisation wherever possible.  If you can spare an hour or so a week, we're keen to hear from you at volunteer@ajfc.net.au

Administration and Organisation
From responding to member queries and information requests, assisting with problems and issues, ensuring paperwork for trial-games, changed games, forfeits, reschedules and the list goes on...; there's no shortage of work to be done at the Club.  If you've got an interest in helping your Club and again can spare an hour or two a week, then we have work to be done.  Contact us at volunteer@ajfc.net.au to find out more.
