Youth Football

Abbotsford Juniors Football Club Youth football program builds upon the introduction players gain through Junior Football, moving players into teams playing in the Canterbury and District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA) football competition. The training focus for players is to continue their individual skill development while learning about game and positional play.
Key information on the program:
• Boys aged from 12 to 18 years can play competitive football in teams in Under 12, Under 13, Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17 and Under 18 age groups.
• AJFC Youth teams are graded into divisions each year based upon past season results and player ability by the Association.
• The season generally commences at the start of April and finishes at the end of August. Unless exceptional conditions apply such as COVID-19 interuption or adverse weather, no games or training sessions are held during the middle of school holidays
• Parents are encouraged to participate as coaches or assistant coaches and are provided with all the resources required to support their team.
• Training Sessions are conducted at Campbell Park and Lysaght Park most usually on weekday evenings as scheduled by Team managers and Coaches
(As all our coaches are mainly volunteer parents, the exact times and days for training are reliant on their availability. All team managers and coaches must get a valid Working With Children Certificate)
• All players must wear soccer boots and shin pads (they won’t be allowed to play without)
